// Our Story

The making of Solspel

Solspel is a slow-made jewelry house rooted in ritual, raw materials, and the quiet wisdom of the earth. Every piece begins with an intention — and ends in the hands of the woman it was shaped for.

// The beginning

Born of earth,
shaped by ritual

Solspel was born from a quiet need — to create something that does not rush. Something that remembers the slow rhythms of fire, water, and stone. Something that honours the woman who wears it as much as the hands that made it.

Each piece begins as a thought, an intention, a feeling that asks to be held in form. From there it travels through wax, fire, and water — shaped slowly, in small batches, from recycled gold and freshwater pearls.

// What we stand for

The values we carry

01 — Material

Recycled gold, raw pearls

We work only with recycled 14k gold, ethically sourced freshwater pearls, and stones with story. No mass production, no shortcuts.

02 — Method

Made by hand, in small batches

Every piece is shaped, filed, soldered and polished by hand in our small studio — never more than a few of any single design at a time.

03 — Meaning

Worn as ritual

Solspel is not jewelry to display — it is jewelry to live in. Sun, salt, and sea included. Every mark becomes part of your story.

// The making of Solspel

From raw silver
to your hand

The journey of every Solspel piece — from the first sketch on paper to the moment it lands in your palm — passes through seven slow steps. None of them can be rushed.

Detail of a Solspel piece in process
  1. 01

    Intention

    Every piece begins with a feeling — a word, a season, a phase of the moon. Nothing is sketched until the intention is clear.

  2. 02

    Sketch & wax

    The form is drawn on paper, then carved by hand into wax. This is the slowest part — the moment the piece becomes real.

  3. 03

    Casting in recycled gold

    The wax is cast in 14k recycled gold using the lost-wax method, in our small Slovenian foundry.

  4. 04

    Hand finishing

    Filing, soldering, and polishing — all done by hand. Each surface is touched dozens of times before it is ready.

  5. 05

    Setting the stones

    Freshwater pearls and ethically sourced stones are set one by one. We choose pieces with character — not perfection.

  6. 06

    Blessing

    Before a piece leaves the studio, it is held under the morning sun and offered a small prayer for the woman who will wear it.

  7. 07

    Into your hands

    Wrapped in unbleached cotton, sent with a handwritten note. Made to be lived in — sun, salt, and sea included.
